Project Build Update – The frame is up!!
Now this home’s form is really taking shape. As you can see, it is a two storey, contemporary structure. The structural steel posts at the front and rear are a great way to make a required element both practical and beautiful.
Surprisingly, the framing goes up really quickly.
During the framing stage, we will begin to construct external and internal walls and the roof trusses. Plywood or oriented strand board (OSB) sheathing is applied to the exterior walls, roof, and windows and the exterior doors are installed. The sheathing is then covered with a protective barrier known as a house wrap; it prevents water from infiltrating the structure, while allowing water vapor to escape. This reduces the likelihood of mold and wood rot.
Once the framing is up, visually you can walk through your home and see each room taking shape.
The roof is up next then we really start having some fun…stay tuned…
