Australian Project Home of the Year 2017

The Planbuild Team is thrilled to win another HIA award for the Australian Project Home of the Year, 2017. This is the fourth year that Planbuild has won this category at either a state or national level. So, you might ask, what was it that was so special about this designer home?

The Epernay 4200 is the latest evolution of the Award Winning 2015 Epernay design.  This home is the creation of one of the Planbuild Homes’ Managing Directors, Rob Thomson. The original floor plan was designed to fill a gap in the project home market that allowed our clients to showcase a view within a certain price point.  This adaptation was developed due to the availability of larger width lots with rear facing views.

The design brief was to create a resort style home with dual recreational areas. The resort style pool, media room, billiard room, spa, sauna, steam room and guest/family bedrooms were designed to give the home owners a recreational level with a variety of amenities and functions on the lower level. The upper level provides an informal living space and balcony, showcasing the views and creating a bespoke entertaining area.  The home’s design encompasses the many opportunities to take advantage of Brisbane’s varied views and topography.

As you can see from the image gallery, this home is truly spectacular and the view is in a class of its own!

This latest award win adds to the growing list of accolades for the Queensland Builder and there’s plenty to be proud of. A very special thank you to the below three people, as they played an integral part in the build of this home.

  • Rob Thomson – Designer and Owner
  • Niki McKay – Girl Friday Designer
  • Paul Mann – Project Manager and Supervisor

And of course, a thank you to all of the quality suppliers GMG Stone & Caesarstone, Polytec & Imperial Kitchens, Caroma/Dorf/Clark – Pete Evans, Miele, Easy Pools, Colorbond, James Hardies, Trend Windows, Urbanline, Havwood, Beaumont Tiles, Corinthian and more, for truly making this home feel like a resort.
